When i try to get the scansnap ix500 ready for a scan, i get this pop up message “make sure that scansnap is not being used by another application, and then try again.” i reloaded the scansnap manager once and got it working, but now it’s back with the same issue.. Make sure that the power is on, the cable is firmly connected & the scanner is not used by another application. note that some scanners may turn off automatically. in case the scanner is turned off, turn the power back to on. This happens whenever another program has locked the scanner (has exclusive use over the scanner). the fix is easy in most cases. simply close any program other than orion that might be communicating with the scanner.. Verify that the scanner works properly by scanning into another application (for example, microsoft word) using the same settings that failed with acrobat.. €
